The photographs in this section were taken during a trip to Brazil in October 2011. The tour started in São Paulo with a flight to Cuiabá followed by a second flight to Alta Floresta on the southern margin of the Amazon Rainforest. The first week was spent at Cristalino Lodge on the Rio Cristalino. Following the period in the rainforest a transfer back to Cuiabá and thence to Cáceres for a boat transfer to Pousada Baiazinha took place. A few very productive days then followed on the Rio Paraguay on the northern margin of the Pantanal. Further exploration of the Pantanal along the Transpantaneira involved stays at Pouso Allegre, Rio Claro, Santa Tereza and Piuval before a return to Cuiabá and then São Paulo. The final section of the tour, to the Atlantic Rainforest between São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, consisted of stays at Hotel Ypé in Itatiaia National Park, Serre dos Tucanos and Guapi Açu Bird Lodge. A return to São Paulo via Rio de Janeiro completed the tour.
