The visit to Namibia took place during December 2007 and into January 2008. The trip was not primarily a photographic trip and therefore the bird and animal photographs only represent a small proportion of what is there. The trip started in the capital city Windhoek at the Villa Verde. On the following day we drove to Ongava for an overnight stop before continuing north to Etosha. A transfer to Doro’nawas was made to facilitate the flight in a small plane to the Research Station in the north of the Skeleton Coast. During our stay in the Skeleton Coast we visited Cape Fria to see the large seal colony there. After leaving the Skeleton Coast we proceeded to Rhino Camp and then to Erongo before making our way south to Sossusvlei and the vast dune systems of the Namib Desert. One highlight of this section of the trip was a dawn hot air balloon flight over the dunes followed by a champagne breakfast.
