Family Alcedinidae – Kingfishers
Kingfishers have a cosmopolitan distribution with most species found outside the Americas. The family contains 114 species divided into three subfamilies: river kingfishers (Alcedininae), tree kingfishers (Halcyoninae) and water kingfishers (Cerylinae).
